Can't see which family member is signed up for an activity

On family accounts you see all family members that are signed up for an activity regardless of who is logged in. That's good and they way it was. However the old version had an indication next to each one of who was doing the activity.

This is a problem where the functionality is essentially backwards and there may be two problems. See the attached PDF for an example (screen shots with private information removed). In this case:

Courtenay, the primary family member, is the only one registered for the three "Family Climb" activities that show in all three of their Account pages Upcoming Activities tables. Doug and Brooke are Courtenay's family members and are NOT registered for any of these activities. If they should see Courtenay's activities, her name should be in the Status column under the word, Signed Up.

Doug is registered for the Photography activity so his name should show in the Status column for Courtenay's and Brooke's Upcomging Activity tables (if they should see his activity listings).

In the old website we had this problem if one of the people was the activity leader: "In the primary family member’s records, fix the records so that the correct name is displayed when the primary family member is also the activity leader. Currently the primary family members name is listed with all records." When the above problem id fixed, we may revert to this problem.

Side Topic -- My memory was that only the primary family members could see the other family members' upcoming activities, but Doug remembers, reports seeing and prefers that each all family members can see each others upcoming activities. I think this is okay too, but we may want to list this as a separate discussion to gather feedback??

    thanks for checking into this.

Regarding all the activities for all family members showing up under each person that is my preference. That's the way it was working before the change 2 weeks ago.

The only change here needed is just a way to indicate which family member is signed up on each line. That's the way it was before.

Based on JeffB's & JeffJ's converstion Friday, here's a suggestion to the question, "How should this work?"

On each family member's Account page show all family member's upcming activities to each other with expand/contract capability. See the attached file for a simple mock-up of how this might appear for Courtenay, Doug and Brooke.

An added twist to this problem discoivered while working with Vaneeth M:

You'll have to trust me on this one, but all is well. There are two records listed in Your Account and both show you as "signed up." The first record is actually Manisha (registered as a participant) and the second is for you (first on the leader waitlist).

This is because of a problem with the code for displaying upcoming activities on family members Your Account pages. It is a bit of a twist on a another problem with the upcoming activities for families part of this page. We plan to work on it, hopefully very soon. We do need discuss a few options so we make the fix a good one and have one other set of fixes that are near launching.

The info we (staff) see and the online roster that the leader manages are A-OK, so the only problem is Manisha and your Your Account pages. Please check with us near the start of the trip to see if you've made it off of the waitlist.

    JeffB's suggestion:

For the primary family member (FAM-type, no CO_ID):
Show one table for each family member's upcoming activities with the primary person's first and the rest with only a title like "Upcoming Activities for Martin Mountaineer."

    For all others (FMO-type, w/ CO_ID):
    Only show their upcoming activities.

I am still struggling to determine which family members are signed up for which climbs. For example, Joe (my family member) and I both thought we were registered for MOFA a while ago. It turns out that my registration did not go through. I could see that one of us was registered, but we could not figure out which one. Now, we are experiencing a challenge with a glacier climb. He registered and thought he was waitlisted. I registered and think I was waitlisted. On the Account page, it shows that one of us was signed up, and one was waitlisted, but there is no way to tell the name of the parties online.

    Please help!

Unfortunately, you are correct. The name of the person registered if it is not you should be in the Status column. It is not and there are other problems with this method. We are working on a solution.

For the time being, please let us know when a question arises and we'll help you resolve it.

For the Bake/Coleman climb, Joe is signed up and you are first on the waitlist.

    My apologies for the inconvenience,

Completed update to the Your Account page so that Upcoming Activities are grouped by family member.
