Dear Mountaineer Kayakers:

A popular kayaking destination (Arcadia boat launch and parking lot) is
closed for repairs through August this year. If you have a trip planned from
this site during the closure you should contact your participants/leaders
and make other arrangements.

As with all Mountaineer trips you should keep the planned trip difficulty,
trip length and overall logistics under consideration when making alternate
plans. At a minimum you should always be sure to have a plan B in mind.

Cheers!
Ron

Would you be willing to post this on your website? It save the kayaking
community and I alot of grief and disappointment. Thanks.

"Planning to paddle to South Sound's Hope Island or through Hammersley Inlet
to Shelton from the Arcadia Boat launch this summer? The Arcadia boat
launch and parking lot are closed through the end of August for repairs.
Alternative launch sites are Latimer's Landing to the north and Boston
Harbor to the south or Walker Park near Shelton.

If you have any questions, please contact John Konovsky, Environmental
Program Manager at the Squaxin Island Tribe at 360-432-3804."

Wow, that is really going to screw up a lot of power boaters. Does this mean that the activity will likely increase around Boston Harbor? Something to keep in mind.... LJ

Dean - can we get this on the website?

Jeff - is it possible to get a notice out to all Mountaineer Kayakers?

John - thank you for the notification. It is much appreciated. Arcadia is a very popular destination.

      Cheers!
      Ron

    thanks Jeff.

Olympia uses a separate google list serve for our internal communication so
we are covered for our local Olympia Mountaineer paddling community. What
you did will be helpful in relaying information to other branches.

I've found the Mountaineers kayak data base to cumbersome and ineffective
for our purposes. I can't sort it properly when trying to notify the broader
    kayak community.

    Thanks again for the help!
