The website and carpool mails currently list the carpool rate as 12 cents per mile, but some hike leaders are still saying 15 cents, others say 10 cents, another told me this weekend the rate was just changed to 13 cents per mile. Someone please clarify and make sure all trip leaders, drivers & riders get the word.

    Lisa,

Here is the link to the official information on carpooling that we keep up-to-date:

    http://help.mountaineers.org/kb/questions/how-does-carpooling-work

The carpool rate quoted in it is, "Riders and drivers are also expected to share the costs of gas. The Mountaineers currently recommends twelve cents (12 ¢) per mile round trip."

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Thanks!

    Jeff

Thanks for the quick reply, Jeff! So the rate hasn't changed - thanks for the confirmation.

It may be worth a broadcast reminder to trip leaders (and drivers & riders) since some other numbers are still being tossed around in trip mails. 15 cents per mile was the rate a couple years ago, I think, but it's still being quoted as current by some leaders.
